For the patient

The reception of a Swiss Visio center

All Swiss Visio ophthalmology centers provide patients with personalized treatment and follow-up in a trusting and welcoming medical environment.

Our team is at your service and is committed to best meet your expectations.

Ophthalmological emergencies and consultations without appointment

Time allowing, we provide consultations without prior appointment. However, to avoid long waits, we recommend calling to check availability.

Surgical interventions are performed at Clinique de Montchoisi in Lausanne, at Hôpital de la Providence in Neuchâtel and at Clinique de Valère in Sion.

Our centers have easy access. Make use of public transport or arrange to have someone drive you to your appointment and in particular if a scheduled examination requires eye dilation.  Please note, you must not drive with dilated pupils.

The majority of ophthalmic operations are ambulatory and do not require hospitalization. This means you can undergo surgery in our centers even if you do not have supplemental private or semi-private insurance.
Our reception desk will be happy to explain the procedure to follow.

  • Surgical procedures take place in one of Swiss Visio’s partner clinics, according to your doctor and / or your place of residence.
  • Surgery invoices are issued directly by the hospital.
  • TarMed is the applicable tariff for outpatient surgery and SwissDRG for stationary surgery.
  • Depending on the category of hospitalization, supplemental insurance recognized by our institutions is necessary to obtain full cover of hospitalization fees.

We will inform you before the beginning of your treatment or hospitalization of any services that are not included in your insurance cover.

Insured within the European Union:

Any elective consultation or intervention must be validated by your social insurance (Form S2) in order to receive cover.
However, in the case of semi-private or private category hospitalization, your social insurance cover does not include all costs. Supplemental insurance for medical care in Switzerland is necessary in order to have full cover.

Ambulatory (outpatient) treatment: Treatment costs are fully covered by the patient.
Stationary treatment: Treatment costs are fully covered by the patient unless a total cover guarantee is provided by your insurance. A deposit will be requested prior to and depending on treatment.
